Hurricanes vs. Devils: Chris Terry scores first goal in first game

His parents were in the crowd to witness it.

We interrupt your night of hockey to bring you a heartwarming story.

Chris Terry, recently called up by the Carolina Hurricanes, is playing in his first NHL game Saturday night against the New Jersey Devils. Terry is a native of Brampton, Ontario, and his parents flew down from Canada to watch their son. So everything was set up quite nicely for a good story to break out.

Well, it did. Terry beat Johan Hedberg at the end of a Hurricanes power play to notch his first NHL goal in his first game with his parentals in attendance. He also put the Canes up 4-1, further distancing his team from New Jersey in the second period. Good for him.
