Oilers vs. Coyotes: Taylor Hall slashes Zbynek Michalek

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Hall went a little crazy after getting hit.

Taylor Hall isn't really doing much to change his reputation as an occasionally reckless player. The Phoenix Coyotes and Edmonton Oilers are both battling for the West's final playoff spot, so you'd expect tensions to start boiling over at some point.

But Hall took it to another level when he deliberately slashed Zbynek Michalek in the back of the legs after a check along the boards.

Here's the slash:

Looking at it again, it's more of a wild axing than a slash. No penalty was called on that play, but the refs made up for the missed call just a minute later. Michalek continued to follow Hall around the ice like a shark as the period continued, looking for retribution.
