NHL schedule: Five questions for Tuesday

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

A daily feature which asks the five hardest-hitting questions imaginable about this day in the NHL. Will our quandaries be answered? (That doesn't count as one of the five questions.)

1. Will the New York Islanders gain control of the eight seed in the Eastern Conference?

With a win or a tie, they will. Of course, it could be short-lived as they will have played two more games than the New York Rangers.

2. Will any marquee players be A.) scratched before game-time or B.) removed from the contest mid-game?

'Tis the trading season and these kinds of things happen! While it appears as though the majority of moves have been made, we're keeping our eyes open for any kind of moves. Will the beginnings of one occur of the eve of the deadline?

3. How will Marc-Andre Bergeron fare in his Carolina Hurricanes debut?

Carolina acquired Bergeron from the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday morning for Adam Hall and a draft pick. Largely known as a power-play specialist, will Bergeron make any kind of impact on his new club?

4. Will the Pittsburgh Penguins extend their 15-game winning streak?

The Penguins have kept the streak alive for 15. Will it survive to a 16th?

5. Will the game between the Los Angeles Kings and Phoenix Coyotes be as heated as their previous meetings?

These two have developed a contentious relationship of late. With the two butting heads in the Western Conference Finals last season, as well as four meetings this season, will the fifth and final meeting prove to have the same level of animosity?
