NHL playoff TV schedule 2013: Your day-by-day playoff TV guide

Justin Sullivan

A day-by-day look at the Stanley Cup Playoffs on television in the United States and Canada.

Welcome to my last day off for the next two months, also known as the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Before I deliver you the day-by-day TV schedule, some notes:

* NBC will only air one weekend worth of coverage during the Conference Quarterfinals, as they'll be airing The Players Championship of golf on May 11-12. They'll air a game this Saturday afternoon (NY Rangers vs. Washington, Game 2) and a doubleheader of Game 3s this Sunday (Pittsburgh vs. NY Islanders early, Chicago vs. Minnesota late).

* Thursday, May 2, Friday, May 3 and Tuesday, May 7 will be a set of fun days for fans of hockey in the United States: NBC Sports Network and CNBC will run doubleheaders concurrently, something that very rarely happened during last season's playoffs.

* A note about May 12th: since NBC isn't slated to air a game that day, a 4 p.m. ET slot has been opened up on NBC Sports Network so that the potential of six games can be covered.

* In Canada, a bit of a surprise: CBC doubling down on the Eastern Canadian clubs and saying thanks, but no thanks, to Vancouver. Ottawa-Montreal getting on CBC was a bit of a surprise to me. The Leafs were a no-doubter, but I felt the big-market Canucks might be as well. TSN reaps the benefit of getting Western Canada's most popular team.

* Remember with all the TBD games: It'll depend on which series are still going, but if you look at the early dates on the schedule, you can figure out when and where those later series games will air.

Here's the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs TV schedule in both countries. It has been updated with announcers for each game.
