Mikael Granlund recalled from AHL by Wild

USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Wild have recalled forward Mikael Granlund from the American Hockey League.

The Minnesota Wild recalled forward Mikael Granlund from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League, according to an announcement by the team on Thursday afternoon.

It remains unclear whether he will be available for the team's game against the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday night.

Granlund was assigned to the AHL on March 12 after struggling in 19 games with the Wild. The 21-year-old forward started out the year with Houston due to the lockout. In 21 games with the Aeros, he accumulated eight goals and 13 assists for 21 points. In addition, he was named the AHL Rookie of the Month for October after scoring 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in seven games.

After returning to Houston, Granlund collected two goals and five assists for seven points in nine games. Over his 19 games with the Wild, he had compiled a goal and five assists for six points.

He had been scratched four times over the course of his last eight games prior to his assignment.
