NHL schedule: Five questions for Thursday

USA TODAY Sports

A daily feature which asks the five hardest-hitting questions imaginable about this day in the NHL. Will our quandaries be answered? (That doesn't count as one of the five questions.)

1. How will Marian Gaborik fare in his debut with the Columbus Blue Jackets?

Gaborik is expected to play against the Nashville Predators on Thursday night. The pieces he was traded for played excellently in their debuts, with Derick Brassard and John Moore tallying goals on Wednesday night. In addition, Ryane Clowe scored his first two goals of the season.

2. Will there be a new division leader by the end of Thursday night's action?

The Boston Bruins, Vancouver Canucks and Washington Capitals all have an opportunity to take over the lead of their divisions. Of course, they will need some help, as all three of the incumbent leaders are also in action on Thursday night. Will any of them make the jump?

3. How will Jason Pominville fare in his debut with the Minnesota Wild?

Pominville is expected to play on Thursday, one day after being traded by the Buffalo Sabres. Will the former Sabres captain make an immediate impact?

4. How will Jaromir Jagr perform in his debut with the Boston Bruins?

Jagr is expected to make is debut on Thursday night. How's he gonna do?

5. Will the Philadelphia Flyers extend their three-game winning streak?

Philadelphia is attempting to make a late push for the playoffs. In order to do so, the Flyers will need to keep winning. They will challenge the Toronto Maple Leafs, who also carry a three-game winning streak into the tilt, on Thursday night.
