Following in the footsteps of Ryane Clowe and the other new Rangers who immediately delivered for their new teams, Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop made 45 saves and shut out the Carolina Hurricanes in his first game in a Tampa Bay jersey. The Lightning won the game, 5-0.
Bishop had one previous career shutout, which came in 2010 while playing for the St. Louis Blues. He has only 37 games of experience at the NHL level, but gained some attention earlier this season while filling in for an injured Craig Anderson in Ottawa. While playing for the Senators, Bishop had a .922 save percentage and a 2.45 goals-against average along with a 8-5-0 record.
