The Blackhawks were just able to sneak by with an overtime win over the Minnesota Wild in Game 1 of their Western Conference Quarterfinal series. They won't be able to add two key pieces to the lineup for Game 2, either.
Chicago head coach Joel Quenneville announced today that forward Dave Bolland and goaltender Ray Emery -- who sat out Game 1 -- will also be unavailable for Game 2.
Coach Q: Both Emery and Bolland ruled out for Game 2. Emery skated before practice, Bolly is "close." #Blackhawks— Chicago Blackhawks (@NHLBlackhawks) May 2, 2013
Bolland missed the last three games of the regular season with a groin injury. He did not skate today, as Emery did. Emery has been out since Apr. 24, when he suffered a lower-body injury during the first period of a game against the Edmonton Oilers. Quenneville was "non-committal but more optimistic" about the two players joining the Hawks on the road for Games 3 and 4 in St. Paul.
