Red Wings vs. Blackhawks Game 7 update: Sharp scores for Chicago, Crawford stones Detroit

USA TODAY Sports

The Blackhawks lead the Red Wings, 1-0, at the second intermission.

The second period of Game 7 between the Detroit Red Wings and the Chicago Blackhawks started with the teams tied at zero, but it didn't take long for Chicago to open the scoring. The Blackhawks got the first goal of the game just 1:08 into the period after a crisp passing play that ended in this sweet goal for Patrick Sharp:

The goal came after a bad line change for the Red Wings, and was assisted by Marian Hossa and Michal Handzus.

Corey Crawford continued to look strong in net for the Blackhawks, and stoned Cory Emmerton on this golden opportunity:

Each team had a power-play opportunity in the second period, but so far the man advantage hasn't been successful for either squad. The Blackhawks led in shots, 24-17, at the second intermission.
