NHL 14 cover voting narrowed down to 16 players

The cover vote for NHL 14 has been narrowed down to 16 players. Did your favorite player make the cut?

The final 16 players competing to become the cover athlete for EA Sports' NHL 14 were announced on Monday. The competition is conducted based upon a fan vote.

The players have been organized into a bracket, which will pit them against one another.

Here are the match-ups for the Round of 16:

Pavel Datsyuk vs. Mike Fisher
Martin Brodeur vs. Anze Kopitar
James van Riemsdyk vs. Tyler Seguin
P.K. Subban vs. Joffrey Lupul
John Tavares vs. Evander Kane
Sergei Bobrovsky vs. Patrick Sharp
Taylor Hall vs. Matt Duchene
Wayne Simmonds vs. Evgeni Malkin

Fans can place their vote by visiting this official site. Voting is unlimited. In addition, fans can participate in "Double Vote Thursdays" through Twitter. Whenever a fan tweets something on a Thursday with a player specific hashtag, that player will receive two votes.

The Round of 16 will run through Sunday, May 12.
