Capitals vs. Rangers: Nicklas Backstrom tips in Washington's first goal

Upon further review, it's still a good goal.

The Capitals have struck first in New York. John Carlson's shot at 4:06 took a sudden change in direction off of Nicklas Backstrom's stick, beating Henrik Lundqvist through his five-hole.

But was it a legal goal? Take a look.

It looked, at the very least, like Backstrom played the puck level with the crossbar. After a lengthy review, the officials let the goal stand. What a bad break for the Rangers early on.
