After being denied on their 18 first-period shots, it didn't take much time for the Bruins to get on the board in the second period. Patrice Bergeron tallied one for Boston just 30 seconds into the middle frame, after James Reimer gave up a big rebound:
The Bruins continued to swarm the Toronto net and pour on shots, until finally it paid off with this David Krejci goal:
With under five minutes remaining in the period, Toronto's Colton Orr took an elbowing penalty -- and it ended up being a costly one. Krejci would score again on the power play, giving the Bruins the lead:
But Toronto battled back to score one of their own less than a minute later with this Clarke MacArthur goal, and the game was tied once again:
The period ended in exciting fashion as two quick Boston penalties gave the Leafs an extended 5-on-3, but Toronto couldn't convert to take the lead. The game was tied, 3-3, at the end of two periods.
