Roman Polak injured at end of 1st period

USA TODAY Sports

The period ended with Polak helped to the dressing room by his teammates.

The first period between the Los Angeles Kings and the St. Louis Blues ended with both teams scoreless, but the real story of the opening 20 minutes came on the very final play, as Roman Polak of the Blues tripped over the Kings' Rob Scuderi and appeared to hurt his leg on the play:

Polak, a physical defenseman, has six shots and no points through the first four games of the series.

The Blues led in shots 12-8 at the end of the first period. The series is currently tied 2-2.
