Blackhawks vs. Bruins Game 2 update: Chris Kelly evens things up for Boston

Harry How

Boston and Chicago are knotted up at one apiece after two periods.

It took nearly two whole periods, but Boston finally broke through the Blackhawks' defense to tie Game 2 at 1-1 heading into the third.

Considering the enormous shot differential, it was no surprise the Bruins got a penalty rather quickly in the second period. Dave Bolland was sent to the sin bin just 1:19 into the frame when he took down Brad Marchand behind the net. As he skated away, Bolland took issue with Marchand's face.

Alas, nothing came from the power play. In fact, not much came from any scoring chance for most of the second period. About 15 minutes passed with only seven total shots on goal from both sides.

And then a Bruin stole the puck from Nick Leddy and let Chris Kelly stuff it past Corey Crawford to get Boston on the board.

The goal was followed by a power play for the Hawks that nearly ended in a Marchand shorthanded goal, but Brent Seabrook's uncalled slash kept him from scoring. Boston will head into the third period with a minute and change of power play time of their own.
