After a scoreless and evenly played first period, the Bruins got on the board just two minutes into the second after a fantastic play from Game 2's hero, Daniel Paille. Paille stole the puck from Dave Bolland and fired a shot at the net before any of the Blackhawks could properly react:
The Bruins scored again at 14:05 of the period after Bolland and Niklas Hjalmarsson took minor penalties and gave Boston a few seconds of 5-on-3 time. Patrice Bergeron scored just as Bolland left the box, and Boston took a 2-0 lead:
The Bruins led in shots, 26-18, at the second intermission. Through the opening two periods the Bruins have won 69% of the faceoffs in the contest.
