Blackhawks vs. Bruins Game 4 update: Goals come fast in 2nd


The Blackhawks lead 4-3 after a flurry of scoring in the second period.

The first period of Game 4 between the Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins was a tight and low-scoring affair. In the second period, things were a little different.

To start things off, Jonathan Toews put the Blackhawks up by one after deflecting a shot from Michal Rozsival:


Zdeno Chara was down in the crease when the goal was scored, not doing much of anything to stop it. The goal was only the second of the postseason for Toews.

Minutes later, another Chicago star came through to make it a two-goal lead, when Patrick Kane scored off a rebound:


As time wound down in the period, things started to get a little crazy. The Bruins were back on their heels and looked dead in the water until Milan Lucic scored to put them within one:


It only took a few seconds for Marcus Kruger to score for Chicago to pad the cushion to two once again:


But the goals weren't done yet. Patrice Bergeron scored the Bruins' second power-play goal of the night after a Chara slap-shot deflected off the glass:


The period ended with a flurry of activity but no more goals for either side. The Blackhawks lead the Bruins, 4-3, after 40 minutes. Chicago has the edge in shots, 25-20.
