Blackhawks vs. Bruins Game 4 recap: Brent Seabrook wins it in OT

Bruce Bennett

The Blackhawks beat the Bruins, 6-5, to tie the series at 2.

After a tight, defensive first period, Game 4 between the Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins turned into a shooting gallery. The teams traded goals in the final two periods of regulation as defenses and goaltending broke down, and overtime began with the score tied at 5.

Both teams had solid scoring chances in the opening minutes of the first overtime, but it was Brent Seabrook who got the winning goal for Chicago at 9:51:

The goal won the game for the Blackhawks, 6-5. The series is now tied and heads back to Chicago for Game 5 on Saturday.

Let's take a look at the big questions we were tracking in Game 4:

Will the Blackhawks reunite Toews and Kane?

Towes and Kane spent most of the game playing together, and it paid off in a big way for Chicago. Both stars had goals in the offense-heavy game.

Can the Bruins continue to dominate in the face-off circle?

The Blackhawks performed much better in this regard than they did in Game 3. They won 49% of the face-offs in Game 4.

Will Chicago's power play break through?

Yes, finally, it did. Patrick Sharp scored on the power play in the third period to end Boston's streak of 29 consecutive kills.
