Patrice Bergeron that kept him out of most of Game 5 is worse than it appeared. WCVB-TV's Mike Lynch reported on Twitter that Bergeron left the United Center in an ambulance as the third period got underway. The Bruins have confirmed the report.
From HNIC: Bergeron walked out of B's room to ambulance which presumably took him to hospital. Had stretcher waiting but didn't need it.— Mike Zeisberger (@Zeisberger) June 22, 2013
There's no official word on what kind of injury Bergeron is suffering from, but he did pull up lame at the end of a shift in the second period. Bergeron has been one of Boston's best players this postseason, so his loss is a critical one.
