The Chicago Blackhawks entered Game 4 against the Los Angeles Kings without Duncan Keith, who was suspended for the contest because of a slashing incident in Game 3. Through the opening 20 minutes, at least, his absence wasn't glaringly obvious. The teams traded chances and went to the first intermission tied, 1-1.
Slava Voynov continued his surprisingly productive post-season by scoring yet another goal to put the Kings up early in the period:
Voynov now leads the Kings in playoff scoring this season.

The two teams looked fairly evenly matched through the opening 20 minutes. The shots were 11-10 in favor of the Blackhawks.
