* The Boston Bruins have reached out to unrestricted free agent Daniel Alfredsson, according to multiple reports. Boston has been interested in Alfredsson for sometime and many assumed they would at least attempt to lure him away from the Ottawa Senators. Whether he is legitimately interested in a new opportunity or is merely establishing leverage in negotiations with Ottawa remains to be seen.
* Rob Scuderi has begun fielding offers from other teams, according to Pierre LeBrun of ESPN. While Scuderi is gauging the market, Lebrun states that the Los Angeles Kings are still in the mix for his services.
* Bruins manager Peter Chiarelli stated earlier on Wednesday that an extension with goaltender Tuukka Rask was close to completion. Elliotte Friedman of CBC tweets that the deal could be eight years for $56 million. Rask is a restricted free agent this summer.
* The Pittsburgh Penguins have yet to make an offer to forward Craig Adams, according to Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Adams is believed to be interested in continuing talks with Pittsburgh but will be pursuing other options. Given the extensions to Chris Kunitz and Pascal Dupuis, it remains unclear whether Adams is still an option the Penguins.
