Raffi Torres could miss a significant chunk of time due to an ACL issue.

San Jose Sharks forward Raffi Torres has sustained an ACL injury in his right knee, the team announced on Monday afternoon.

San Jose manager Doug Wilson did not specify the full extent of the injury, but indicated that Torres would likely miss at least six weeks while recovering from the issue. Wilson stated that the team is still waiting for the swelling to go down in the area before determining whether surgery is necessary. In the event that it is, Torres could miss upwards of three-to-four months while recovering.

The injury occurred during an exhibition game against the Anaheim Ducks on Friday night. Torres collided with Anaheim forward Emerson Etem, which left both players on the ice for a period of time. Torres was able to leave the ice under his own power, but Kevin Kurz of Comcast SportsNet Bay Area reported that the Sharks forward left the arena with a slight limp and his knee wrapped.
