Team Canada to have third jersey at 2014 Olympics?

Team Canada might have a third jersey option at the 2014 Olympic games.

Reaction to Nike's efforts in designing the hockey jerseys for the 2014 Sochi Olympics has been largely negative. Starting with Russiasparkling with the United States and wrapping up North of the border with Canada, social media has displayed that many have been left wanting in regards to the Olympic jerseys.

But wanting for what? If the answer to that question is a black third jersey for Team Canada, then your calls have been answered.

Hockey jersey blog Icethetics is reporting that Canada will have a third jersey option for the 2014 Olympic games. Based upon a secondhand source, the website developed this concept, which depicts a black jersey with gold stripes:

In addition to the Icethetics tip, Vancouver Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo stated during a media availability that he has seen three Canada jerseys. Whether that means the team has three mock designs or that they will use three jerseys during the tournament remains to be seen.

Hockey Canada and Nike are scheduled to officially unveil the jerseys on Oct. 8.
