Blackhawks vs. Oilers: Patrick Kane scores a crazy own goal

Sergei Belski-USA TODAY Sports

That's a first.

We've seen plenty of own goals before, but Patrick Kane reinvented the play on Sunday in one of the strangest moments of the season.

Midway through the second period, the Edmonton Oilers were called for a delayed penalty when goalie Devan Dubnyk slashed a Blackhawk in front of his net. Chicago pulled their goalie for the man advantage, and then luck completely abandoned Kane.

Wow. Not sure that own goal will be topped this season.
