The Stadium Series game in New York is the big one on Wednesday, and we have five separate questions about that game. These are the questions for the other two games on the NHL slate for the night.
1. Will the Chicago Blackhawks end their four-game losing streak?
Not only have the Blackhawks lost four games in a row, they've lost two in a row to the Winnipeg Jets and Calgary Flames. That is … unexpected. Even more, the Blackhawks have won just five of their past 14 games. Will the losing streak end on Wednesday in Vancouver?
2. How will the Canucks bounce back after losing to Edmonton?
While the Blackhawks have hit a rough patch recently, the Canucks are slumping a little as well and have won just four of their past 14 games and are coming off a 4-2 loss, at home, to the Edmonton Oilers. Can they get that sour taste out of their mouths against Chicago?
3. Will Joe Pavelski score for the Sharks?
Joe Pavelski is in the middle of a career year and tied for second in the league in goals scored with 28. Nineteen of those goals have come over the past 23 games. Will he keep finding the back of the net against an Edmonton team that gives up more goals than any other team in the league?
4. Will the Oilers keep it close against San Jose?
Edmonton and San Jose have already met twice this season and the Sharks have won in a pair of blowouts, outscoring the Oilers by an 8-2 margin, including a 5-1 win earlier this month. Forget winning, will Edmonton simply keep it close on Wednesday night?
5. Will Ben Scrivens allow less than three goals?
Oilers coach Dallas Eakins announced on Twitter that Ben Scrivens will get the start on Wednesday, and his past two appearances for the Oilers have been outstanding as he's allowed just three goals on 62 shots. This season with the Kings and Oilers he's allowed more than two goals just six times in 22 appearances.
