NHL Five Questions: Ben Bishop looks to silence Olympic doubters

Anne-Marie Sorvin-USA TODAY Spor

Another Team USA snub will try to show off on Friday.

Will Ben Bishop play with a chip on his shoulder?

The Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender was passed up for the 2014 Winter Olympics by Team USA in favor of Jimmy Howard in a puzzling move. Bishop has enjoyed a stellar season with the Lightning, winning 21 games for the league's second-best record for a goalie. He has another chance to show David Poile and Co. what they'll be missing on Friday.

Will the Devils get some shots on Corey Crawford?

New Jersey managed just 12 shots on goal the last time they played the Blackhawks this season. You're not going to win many games playing that way. The good news is the Hawks look beatable for the first time this season after dropping a 3-2 overtime loss on Long Island on Thursday.

Can the Oilers pull off the upset?

What an upset it would be. The Anaheim Ducks are 15-0-2 at home this season while the Oilers have just two wins in their last ten games. Taylor Hall thinks the Oilers can beat anyone, but the Ducks might be an exception.

Will Ryan Callahan make a difference in his return?

The Rangers' captain returns to the lineup on Friday after missing the last nine games with a knee injury. Callahan has struggled to stay in the lineup during this injury-plagued season, so you have to wonder if he'll make the most of protected ice time on Friday.

Will Taylor Pyatt show up his old team?

In a rather awkward situation, Pyatt will suit up against the Rangers just a day after they released him to the Penguins on waivers. Pyatt will have to earn his ice time when Chris Connor returns from his injury, but in the meantime a strong showing against his old team would impress coach Dan Bylsma.
