Five NHL questions: Olympic snub addition

Russell LaBounty-USA TODAY Sport

A daily feature that asks the five biggest questions about today's NHL action. Will they be answered? (That doesn't count as one of the five questions.)

1. How will Hockey Canada's snubs perform?

Claude Giroux and Martin St. Louis were all projected to make Canada's Olympic team, but both were on the outside looking in come Tuesday morning's announcement. Will this impact the players' performances on Tuesday night?

2. How will John Tavares follow-up his five point night?

While some are feeling the sting of rejection, Tavares is glowing in the spoils of success. Coming off a five-point night on Monday, the 23-year-old was named to Team Canada on Tuesday morning and will face the Toronto Maple Leafs later that night. Will he do anything to celebrate the occasion?

3. Can the Phoenix Coyotes avoid a three-game losing streak?

Phoenix has dropped two straight and will look to avoid a third consecutive loss when the Calgary Flames come to town on Tuesday night. Calgary ended a four-game losing streak on Monday night with a 4-3 victory over the Colorado Avalanche.

4. How will the San Jose Sharks perform without Logan Couture?

Hockey Canada believes it can win without Couture, but will the same be true of the Sharks? San Jose will be without Couture for approximately one month while he recovers from shoulder surgery. How will the Sharks fare in the first game without him?

5. Will the Anaheim Ducks continue its home point streak?

Anaheim is 17-0-2 at home this season, which is an amazing mark (obviously). The club is currently tied for the most points in the NHL with the Chicago Blackhawks and will take over control of first place if they can extend the streak on Tuesday night against the Boston Bruins.
