The Dallas Stars have now dropped seven games in a row after falling to the San Jose Sharks on Saturday. The loss was perhaps the hardest to swallow considering the Stars held a 3-1 lead before the third period.
The frustration clearly affected Dallas late, as noted agitator Antoine Roussel knocked down Sharks goalie Alex Stalock late in the third period.
The play was unusual for a couple of reasons. First, why Stalock had decided to toss the puck in the air and swat at it like a tee-ball coach hitting ground balls to his infield at practice is beyond me. He clearly didn't expect Roussel to take advantage and shove him to the ground.
As you might expect, the Sharks immediately made Roussel answer for his crimes.
Roussel received two minutes for roughing and a ten-minute game misconduct. Whether he receives a fine remains to be seen.
