Jordan Nolan has been suspended for punching Edmonton's Jesse Joensuu on Sunday.

Punching Jesse Joensuu in the face on Sunday is going to cost Los Angeles Kings forward Jordan Nolan a one-game suspension and $3,589.44 in salary.

The NHL announced on Monday that Nolan has been suspended for punching Joenssu during a skirmish late in the second period on Sunday as Joensuu was being held by an official.

Here is the play, as well as the NHL's explanation for the punishment.

In 54 games this season Nolan has scored five goals to go with four assists while averaging just under 10 minutes of ice-time per game. He will miss the Kings' game on Monday against Calgary and be eligible to return on March 13 when the Kings return home to take on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
