If you're a hockey traditionalist and hate games being decided by shootouts, then the Tampa Bay Lightning-New York Islanders game on Thursday night had to be your own personal hockey hell. The two teams needed a 13-round shootout to break their 2-2 tie. That's 26 shooters, including nine that were successful, with Sami Salo's goal in the 13th round securing the 3-2 win for Tampa Bay.
But the highlight of the entire event was this nifty spin-o-rama from Steven Stamkos.
There is always somebody screaming about that move because the puck briefly stops moving forward, but it's still legal because the spin is considered to be a continuous motion.
It's also still pretty fun to watch.
