Happy Canada Day to Claude Giroux.

Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux was arrested in Ottawa on Tuesday night for getting drunk and grabbing the ass of a police officer, according to the Ottawa Sun.

Ottawa Police could not confirm or deny the report when contacted by SB Nation, saying that they do not discuss reports or ongoing investigations unless charges are filed. It doesn't appear as though charges will be filed in this case.

Here are some of the details from the Sun:

... a source said Giroux was arrested for repeatedly grabbing the buttocks of a male police officer. Alcohol is believed to have been involved. A witness and sources say the incident occurred outside The Great Canadian Cabin in the Byward Market club district.

Giroux is a native of Hearst, Ont. He spends his summers in the Ottawa area, frequently training with the QMJHL's Gatineau Olympiques.
