St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - Milan Lucic's score late in the second period proved to be the winner, as Boston doubled up St. Louis, 4-2, at Scottrade Center.
Mark Recchi, Blake Wheeler and Marco Sturm also tallied for the Bruins, who have won three in a row. Patrice Bergeron assisted on all four goals, while Tuukka Rask got the win with 29 stops.
"The key to the game was to match their intensity and they way they were forechecking," said Bergeron. "We tried to do the same thing to their defensemen and it worked."
Keith Tkachuk and Carlo Colaiacovo netted a goal each for the Blues, whose two-game win streak was halted. Chris Mason took the loss after yielding all four goals on just 23 shots.
"We have to be better at home," said Mason. "It's not good for us. We gotta be more physical and try to dominate these teams if we want to be more successful."
Lucic put the Bruins back on top, 3-2, when he got a piece of Zdeno Chara's point drive at 12:10 of the second period.
Sturm's shorthanded tally with 8:46 left in regulation gave the visitors a 4-2 cushion, and Rask made the lead hold up with 12 saves in the final 20 minutes.
Recchi notched a power-play goal at the nine-minute mark of the first to put the Bruins ahead, then Tkachuk equalized for the Blues 1:31 later on a tip-in.
Rask kept the B's in the contest by stopping all the remaining 15 shots in the opening period.
Wheeler deposited his sixth goal of the season past Mason 3:02 into the second period, and, despite several quality chances, the home team didn't capitalize until the 7:37 mark when Brad Boyes fed Colaiacovo for a chip shot over Rask.
Bergeron's career-high for assists in a game is five, set on December 19, 2006 at Ottawa...Bruins forward Marc Savard made his return after missing 15 games with a broken left foot. He did not have a shot or a point in 16 1/2 minutes of ice time...The Blues came up empty on three power-play chances.
