(Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Kings continue what's been a very successful road trip thus far with tonight's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets from Nationwide Arena.

The Kings have won the first two tests of their current five-game trek and three in a row overall following Tuesday's 5-3 triumph in Toronto. The victory came on the heels of a 3-2 come-from-behind decision over Detroit on Saturday in which Los Angeles scored two unanswered goals in the third period to prevail.

Los Angeles did its damage in the second period of Tuesday's win, erupting for three goals to take a 4-2 lead into the final frame. Jarret Stoll scored off a feed from Dustin Brown with 7:23 left in the middle session to snap a 2-2 tie, and Ryan Smyth netted the eventual game-winner less than four minutes later.

Stoll and Drew Doughty each had a goal and an assist for the Kings, winners of five of their last six contests, while Brown delivered three helpers to help back a 25-save performance from goaltender Jonathan Quick.

"Our game plan was to get a lot of shots on net tonight and that's what we did," said Brown. "We got goals from five different guys and the shots were getting through. It was a good team effort tonight."

Jack Johnson and Alexander Frolov also lit the lamp for Los Angeles, which presently stands sixth in the Western Conference standings with 63 points.

The Kings enter tonight's tilt on a four-game road winning streak and are a solid 16-10-1 as the visitor this season. The club will also make stops in Boston and New Jersey on this swing.

Columbus is coming off Tuesday's encouraging 3-2 victory over fellow Central Division member Nashville at Nationwide Arena and will be aiming to win back- to-back outings for the first time since a three-game surge from January 7-10. The Blue Jackets have lost five of eight since that streak.

Goals by Derick Brassard, Kristian Huselius and Fredrik Modin gave Columbus a 3-0 advantage midway through the third period of Tuesday's game, and the Jackets staved off a late comeback attempt by the Predators to improve to 12-8-5 at home this season.

Columbus came out on top despite being outshot by a 31-17 margin thanks to a strong effort from goaltender Steve Mason, with the 2008-09 Calder Trophy recipient amassing 29 saves on the night.

"Our goalie was the best player on the ice and we needed him [Tuesday], said Columbus head coach Ken Hitchcock. "He was very good [Tuesday]. He can win games, like [Tuesday], by himself."

Mason was also sharp in the Blue Jackets' 4-1 win over the Kings at Nationwide Arena on October 17, turning aside 27 of the 28 shots he faced. He wasn't nearly as effective when these teams faced off in Los Angeles eight days later, though, with Frolov and Anze Kopitar scoring two goals each to lead the Kings to a 6-2 rout.

The Blue Jackets are 10-2-1 over their last 13 meetings with the Kings held in Columbus.
