Predators face Flames
The Nashville Predators have dropped defenseman Mattias Ekholm from their NHL roster this morning, just days after head coach Barry Trotz characterized his play as "horrible, absolutely horrible" against Vancouver.
Calgary represents an interesting test for the Preds, because unlike Edmonton and Vancouver, the two previous opponents on this road trip, the Flames are expected to be in the thick of what should be a wide-open chase for the final few playoff spots in the Western Conference this spring.
Shea Weber avoided his first career NHL suspension for boarding Vancouver's Jannik Hansen in the third period last night.
