Boston, MA (Sports Network) - The Boston Bruins signed backup goaltender Tuukka Rask to a two-year contract extension through the 2011-12 season.

Rask has appeared in four games this season, recording a 2-1-1 record with a 2.41 goals against average.

The 22-year-old, who was selected by the Maple Leafs in the first round of the 2005 draft, has played in nine career NHL games -- all with the Bruins. He is 5-2-2 with a 2.43 GAA and a .917 save percentage.

Rask was dealt to Boston on June 24, 2006 in a trade that sent Andrew Raycroft to the Maple Leafs.
