In what seems to be a natural follow-up to yesterday's news about Peter Horachek being fired, the Nashville Predators have hired a new assistant coach in Phil Housley, one of the top offensive defensemen in NHL history.
Former NHL goaltender Darren Pang has made a name for himself as a TV analyst for the last several years, but tonight he dropped a bombshell for Nashville Predators fans.
The Nashville Predators are rewarding a longtime prospect today, by signing Mark Van Guilder to a two-way contract for the next two seasons.
While Smith's 2013 NHL season was an unmitigated train wreck, young forwards with offensive potential probably deserve a second (or third) chance in Nashville, given the team's overall lack of talent up front.

A member of the Nashville Predators family got some big news today, as Mrs. Mike Fisher (who goes by the stage name "Carrie Underwood") was selected to sing the opening song for NBC's Sunday Night Football program this fall.
