Recap: St. Louis vs. Nashville

St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - Jordin Tootoo's goal late in regulation sent Nashville over St. Louis, 3-1, at Scottrade Center.

Patric Hornqvist and David Legwand also tallied for the Predators, who have won five of seven. Pekka Rinne got the win with 21 saves.

"The Blues come out really strong in this building," Predators head coach Barry Trotz said. "They've always been a quick-start team in this building. We didn't get through the first part, but I thought as the game went on our legs, second period on we had good legs. We just stayed persistent."

Brad Boyes lit the lamp for the Blues, who have dropped six of seven. Chris Mason allowed two goals on 36 shots in the loss.

"We got what we deserved tonight," Blues head coach Andy Murray said. "Usually in this game and in life, you do. We tried to alert our team this morning, because I sensed that we were somewhat loose after the victory the other night...I shouldn't have to alert them because every single game we play against [Nashville] is that way. We know they're going to work extremely hard."

Tootoo beat Mason on a quick wrister with 3:43 left in regulation, and Legwand put the clincher into an empty net with seven seconds to play.

Boyes' tally a little more than two minutes into the contest put the Blues ahead, then Hornqvist finally equalized for the Predators with 6:10 left in the second.

Nashville has won three of the last four matchups dating back to last February...The Preds have won back-to-back games in the Gateway City...Both teams are in action on Saturday, with Nashville hosting Montreal and St. Louis hosts San Jose.
