Tuesday MLB Odds Roundup: Liriano Tempting Underdog vs Yankees

MINNEAPOLIS, MN - MAY 26: Pitching coach Rick Anderson #40 and Francisco Liriano #47 of the Minnesota Twins speak in the dugout after Liriano pitched seven complete innings against the New York Yankees during their game on May 26, 2010 at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Winning baseball wagers over the long season requires patience, discipline and an eye for underdogs. So when you spot a former fireballing ace as a huge underdog, you should take notice, because it can be gold. It can also be Fool's Gold.

Francisco Liriano and the Minnesota Twins visit Yankee Stadium Tuesday as +225 moneyline underdogs. It's a tempting number on a young arm who could potentially throw a no-hittter every time out.

He could also bomb, as he has in his first two starts of 2012.

"He got knocked around twice and his stuff has looked weak and the Twins have lost five of his past seven April starts," said Mike Pickett of OddsShark.com, the baseball odds provider to SBNation. "And there is the little matter of facing CC Sabathia, which is also a significant factor in this lopsided line."

The MLB database indicates Monday's Twins road win was just their second in 16 tries.

The lowest total of the day is 6.5 in the Phillies-Giants matchup, while the highest is 10 in Colorado where grandpa Jamie Moyer goes for the Rockies against the Padres.
