Borussia Dortmund vs. Bayer Leverkusen Betting Odds, Match Preview, Pick

Dennis Grombkowski

Bundesliga betting focuses on the week's top matchup between Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund.

In a great match up between two of the top three clubs in the Bundesliga Borussia Dortmund plays host to Bayer Leverkusen.

Leverkusen sits in second place in the league table three points clear of Dortmund, who are the big home betting favorites.

Early in the week, most sportsbooks offering soccer odds monitored by Odds Shark had Borussia Dortmund at -188 with Bayer Leverkusen at +525 with a draw line at +300.

Bayer Leverkusen was embarrassed losing at home this last week to Manchester United in a Champions League encounter. However, they are unbeaten in their last three Bundesliga matches and in their last two they have kept clean sheets.

The solid Bayer Leverkusen will be dealing with a Dortmund squad that has scored the most goals in the league this season. Robert Lewandowski leads the Bundesliga with goals scored (11) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (8 goals) ranks third.

Last season Borussia Dortmund beat Bayer Leverkusen in both encounters including a 3-0 drubbing at home.

Stefan Kießling and Sydney Sam have combined for 15 goals on the season for Bayer Leverkusen and they will have to pace the offensive attack.

Borussia Dortmund has only one home loss this season and that came at the hands of Bayern Munich. Both of Bayer Leverkusen's losses this season in league play have come on the road.

Borussia Dortmund is more of an attacking team and while the visitors would be happy leaving with a draw that will not suit the hosts. They will attack from the get go like they have done all season and their midfielders are solid in setting up goals from all over the field.

Because of this they must be wary of the counter attack from Bayer Leverkusen, who remain one of the top choices to win the Bundesliga, according to 5Dimes.

The loser of this match will really be behind the 8-ball since Bayern Munich has not lost in league play. This is especially the case for Dortmund, who will be 10 points back of Bayern if they beat Werder this weekend where they are big road favorites.
