Prop bets like the coin toss or how many times Peyton Manning will say "Omaha" (Over 27.5 at -135, Under 27.5 at -105) are great for entertainment value on Super Bowl Sunday.
For more serious handicappers, there are hundreds of Super Bowl odds varieties that give bettors the opportunity to bet on the game in exactly the way they see it playing out.
For example, alternative point spread props give bettors the chance to earn better payouts on the game if they believe that the set line is inaccurate. Bettors who believe that Peyton Manning will struggle badly in the cold weather against Seattle's elite defense may not be happy with just betting the Seahawks on the moneyline at +115.
Instead, they could bet on the Seattle Seahawks -3.5 at +180, Seattle -7.5 at +350, Seattle -10.5 at +500 or Seattle -17.5 at +1000. Denver backers could get the Broncos at -7.5 at +275, -10.5 at +400, or -14.5 at +700.
These are football betting odds for the more savvy bettor.
Currently, the Super Bowl point spread ranges from a -3 at Bovada (which is the best Seattle line) to -1 at Sportbet, which was the best mid-week line on the Broncos.
Alternative game totals also offer improved payouts. Bettors that believe that the weather will lead to a low-scoring game could take the Under 34.5 at +475 or the Under 37.5 at +300, while bettors handicapping the game out to be a shootout can bet the Over 55.5 at +240 or the Over 60.5 at +400.
Peyton Manning hasn't been sacked once this postseason, but this week his offensive line faces a defense that finished eighth in the NFL in sacks this regular season with 44. Which team will win the battle for the line?
The total for QB sacks by the Seattle Seahawks is currently set at 2.0, with the Over at +120 and the Under at -150. Russell Wilson has taken more sacks than any other quarterback this postseason with seven (3.5 per game).
The total for QB sacks by Denver is set at 2.5 (Over -115, Under -115).
How many successful field goals will be kicked in Super Bowl 48? The total is currently set at 3.5 field goals total (Over +105, Under -135). Wind on game day could play a big role in this prop bet.
The full list of Super Bowl props is huge and includes everything from four bets on the coin toss to the halftime show to who the Super Bowl MVP will thank first.
