Dino Panato
There were 34 goals scored in Serie A last week, more than any other of the top leagues. Find out when you can catch the action in Round 12.
The FIGC gods have done it again -- made a major scheduling error in Week 12. The Derby della Capitale takes place amidst the rest of the cluster of Sunday afternoon matches, which is bad enough on its own -- who doesn't want to watch Lazio and Roma battle it out for highest number of fouls? But then to put Milan and Fiorentina on at the same time, well, that's just criminal.
I can see the reasoning: Juventus and Inter are battling it out for first place, ergo, everyone wants to catch their matches. But let's face it. Pescara are barely going to put up a fight against the Old Lady, and Inter will easily defeat Atalanta. With Milan and Fiorentina, there's some actual mystery. The Viola's 4-1 win over Cagliari last week propelled them into fourth, and they have a chance to overtake Napoli for third this weekend. Milan went one better, beating Chievo 5-1. Sure, it's unlikely we'll see nine goals in this match, but this is still a must-see. Stupid FIGC.
Stay tuned for more in-depth previews of this weekend's matches, including plenty about the Rome Derby.
