Pescara vs Juventus, Preview: Dolphins swim with the Sharks

Can David slay Goliath when the champions come to town?

Pescara have found both goals and victories hard to come by so far.

The Delfini have scored the fewest league goals, but secured a third win of the season last weekend at Parma's expense. The victory couldn't have come at a better time, given Giovanni Stroppa's all too public ultimatum by President Daniele Sebastiani to improve results.

Juventus saw their 49 league game winning streak snapped last weekend by Inter, much to the relief of the rest of Serie A. The Bianconeri quickly recovered with a 4-0 demolition of FC Nordsjaelland in midweek. Antonio Conte is expected to rotate his squad, but Paul Pogba has been dropped as punishment for turning up late to training twice.

Fabio Quagliarella is one of five forwards in contention to play. The frontman came off the bench to register in Wednesday's Champions League rout. It looks to be between him and Mirko Vucinic as to who will be paired up front with Sebastian Giovinco. Infrequently seen Dane Nicklas Bendtner is in the squad, but is tipped to start from the bench.

Pescara's Juan Fernando Quintero fainted during Tuesday's training session, but left hospital later that evening. The Colombian has resumed training and is expected to play some part.

Vladimir Weiss is also tipped to return to the starting line-up after beginning the Parma game from the bench. The former Manchester City man made his mark with a superb solo goal in stoppage time to take his tally up to three for the season.

The two sides met twice during the 2006-07 season, with Juventus running out winners on both occasions, en route to winning the Serie B championship.
