Both Sampdoria and Napoli remain unbeaten in Serie A, but it's the visitors that must take the match in hand to demonstrate their title intentions.
It'll be a battle to see if both sides remain unbeaten in Genoa on Sunday. Sampdoria has out-performed expectations upon their return to Serie A, winning three matches and drawing two. Yet, except for their duel with AS Roma, Samp's competition hasn't been exactly fierce. Napoli will undoubtedly be their toughest opponent yet.
The partenopei have faced some tougher opposition. They put away Fiorentina easily, but it was Edinson Cavani's smooth dispatch of Lazio that truly brought home Napoli's message to the rest of the league: "We intend to challenge for the scudetto." Level on points with Juventus after the Viola held them to a midweek draw, it's what Napoli do against lesser-name opponents that will define their season. Previously, the azzurri have trampled over the big names while refusing to rise to the occasion against less intimidating competition. In order to make a title run, Napoli are going to need to dominate against Sampdoria.
