Wigan Athletic 1-1 Liverpool: Hugo Rodallega Equalizes For Latics

Fernando Torres's early goal overshadowed the fact that Wigan was largely the better side in the first half. Of course, that's a typical tale for the Latics, commonly more style than substance.Today, however, Wigan has managed to have both, finally breaking through in the 51st minute.

That's when Hugo Rodallega, dangerous throughout today's match, put the rebound of a blocked Ronnie Stam shot past Pepe Reina, bringing Wigan back to 1-1 with Liverpool.

It was a just outcome for the Latics, who had a goal called back toward the end of the first half. Why that offside call on Rodallega was ultimately correct, it failed to cancel-out the fact Liverpool was the lesser side for the first half's last 30 minutes.

With Rodallega's goal, the scoresheet now reflects the match.
