Just as we were trying to figure out which MLS kit would look best on Jose Francisco Torres, the United States Men's National Team player has clarified his position about playing im MLS.
"Right now I'm concentrating on extending my international career," Torres told Soccer By Ives. "MLS is an option. Just not an immediate one."
That story was quite the downer, fellow U.S. World Cup player Herculez Gomez also clarifies his position on returning to MLS.
"I have no immediate plans on a return to MLS," Gomez said. "It's the league that formed me as a professional, and I plan on returning home. Just not as fast as some people are saying."
Both players are currently preparing for the Club World Cup with Mexican Primera side Pachuca, which will open play on Friday against Tp Mazembe of Congo.
Torres is once again starting after spending a five-match stretch in late September and October coming off the bench, but has reportedly been told that he can seek other offers. Gomez has spent most of the season coming off the bench after winning the Golden Boot with Puebla, but was in MLS as recently as 2009.
