Rubin Kazan’s success against Barcelona has continued early today, with the Russian club taking a first half lead on the Spanish champions through midfielder Christian Noboa’s penalty kick conversion.
Rubin took four points from two group stage matches against Barcelona last season, winning at the Nou Camp.
Today, Rubin were given a 30th minute penalty kick after Barcelona defender Daniel Alves fouled Vitali Kaleshin. Noboa’s conversion allowed Rubin to take the lead despite having ceded the bulk of the match’s possession to the visitors.
