Rafael van der Vaart has seen a second yellow card at White Hart Lane, leaving Spurs with ten men against FC Twente.
Van der Vaart scored Tottenham's first goal, two minutes into the second half, after missing a penalty kick late in the first.
The dismissal means the Spurs attacker will miss Tottenham's match with Internazionale on the tournament's third match day.
