You'd have thought that pretty much every Manchester City fan at the Etihad Stadium today would have gone home happy. Their club, after all, had taken advantage of arch-rivals Manchester United's stumble at Liverpool (a match that had its own share of controversy) by absolutely stuffing Aston Villa to go top of the Premier League table.
However, it turns out not everyone had a fun time at the Eastlands. There's no way to describe the video after the jump as anything but 'disturbing'.
From the description of the video on Youtube, it appears that the crime this nefarious old man had committed was to stand up when he wasn't supposed to. For some reason, this required the stewards to call the police, who attempted to drag the now-sitting Manchester City fan out of his seat following Mario Balotelli's opening goal. Somehow this ended up with the old man lying on the floor motionless with the entire section jeering the actions of the police.
Obviously, videos like this only tell one side of the story, but it's difficult to imagine exactly what the Greater Manchester Police could say to make this incident any less reprehensible.
