The Seattle Sounders have a cool tradition they call their "March to the Match." The fans gather and then walk to CenturyLink Field together, singing, chanting and lighting flares. It's a good time, a nice tradition and it helps build up the anticipation from the match. There isn't a bad thing to say about it, but there might be from now on because the upcoming marches will not match tonight's march. They will forever be inferior.
That's what happens when you set an attendance record with more than 63,000 people (still waiting on a final attendance number). That's what happens when it's the final home match of the season. That's what happens on local hero Kasey Keller farewell night. What happens is you get awesome and what Seattle had tonight was awesome. Just look at how many people joined the march tonight. It's bonkers.
Yup. Eleventy billion people. I counted.
