Lucas Barrios has finally returned to the Borussia Dortmund team after an injury suffered at Copa America, making four substitute appearances, but it appears he won't be making his return to the starting lineup in the UEFA Champions League against Olympiacos this week. Barrios left training today and went to the hospital for tests on a leg injury. Though no specific information is available on his condition, the injury supposedly appeared serious and is believed to be affecting his hamstring.
The good news for Der BVB is that Robert Lewandowski has been in very good form, while the team is also perfectly capable of getting goals out of their midfielders. However, Barrios is an absolutely lethal finisher and has been key in Borussia Dortmund's return to prominence over the last two years.
Barrios might be just fine and this might be a false alarm, but it still would be surprising to see him start against Olympiacos. Expect Robert Lewandowski to get at least one more run in the first team.
