Toronto FC are terrible. The New England Revolution are terrible. It was the last match of the season and both were eliminated from playoff contention in March. Take away the players' parents and nobody at all cared about Saturday's match at BMO Field (and even the parents didn't really care that much), but the MLS schedule dictated that they played today so the two teams had to play and naturally, the match ended in a 2-2 draw so neither team's parents could leave happy.
Nick Soolsma scored the opening goal off of a cross by Danny Koevermans, pleasing Mr. Soolsma. Just before and after the halftime break, New England got goals from Monsef Zerka and Milton Caraglio, setting off a parade in the Revolution's family section. Koevermans had an equalizer in him though, giving Mrs. Koevermans the last laugh. Eventually the final whistle blew and fans from both teams applauded out of joy that their seasons were over.
